Ludowici Certified Crown Roofer badge

Certified Installer

Ludowici Crown Roofer since 2012.

We've been a certified Ludowici Crown Roofer since the program began in 2012.

Crown Roofers complete Ludowici's factory training — hands-on certification across the full terra cotta system, from measuring and layout to cutting, notching, and detailing every trim piece. Ludowici has manufactured clay roof tile in Ohio since 1888, and the Crown Roofer badge is how they mark the contractors they trust to install it right.

It's also why our Ludowici installations carry a 75-year material warranty.

Clay tile has roofed the world's best houses for a thousand years, and it still can't be improved on.

It shrugs off sun, rain, and time. In the Southeast it belongs on the homes it was made for: Mediterranean, Spanish, and the grand traditional houses of Atlanta and the Carolina foothills.

Tile looks simple and installs hard. The battens, the fastening, the valleys and hips, the mortar work: tile done wrong leaks from day one and tile done right never leaks at all. We've set tile on new custom homes and matched 75-year-old tile on restorations so closely you can't find the seam.

Our Expertise

A system, not a surface.

Tile is a system, not a surface. We start with the structure and the underlayment, lay out battens to the tile's exact requirements, and finish the hips, valleys, and ridges with mortar work done the traditional way.

Our restoration work is where tile expertise really shows: sourcing and matching discontinued profiles, blending new tile into a 75-year-old field, and rebuilding the weatherproofing underneath without disturbing what still works.

Common Questions

Asked and answered.

How long does tile last?

75 to 100 years with basic care.

Can you match my existing tile?

Usually yes, including discontinued profiles. Send us a photo and we'll tell you.

Is tile too heavy for my house?

Most homes built for tile handle it fine. We'll verify the structure before we quote.

How much does a clay tile roof cost?

More than shingles, far less than replacing shingles twice. Tile's 75-to-100-year life is what you're buying. Every quote is itemized and honest.

Clay vs. concrete tile?

Clay holds color forever and lasts longer; concrete is cheaper up front. For landmark and historic work, clay is the answer. We install both.

Do you work outside Georgia?

Yes. Our shop is in Roswell, GA, our core territory is the Southeast, and we travel up to 1,000 miles from Atlanta for landmark projects.
