A large stone estate in the West Paces area of Atlanta, roofed in variegated natural slate — grays, blue-grays, and soft greens blended across the whole roof.
The roof is all hips, valleys, and gables, with stone chimneys and low-slope sections tied in where the architecture calls for them. Every transition is flashed and finished to disappear into the stonework.
Slate like this is a hundred-year roof. On a house built to last, nothing else belongs up there.
